Release the pressure & set yourself free.

Each day feels like…

A tightrope walk, balancing the need to please others with the constant weight of anxious thoughts pulling you down.

The stream of racing thoughts makes it hard to focus on your seemingly never-ending to-do list. Your work might be suffering—like you're barely treading water—struggling to meet even the minimum expectations. Sometimes when things don’t go as planned, the guilt sets in, and that devil on your shoulder becomes the prevailing soundtrack of your inner dialogue.

You might find yourself agreeing to everything, not because you want to, but because you can't bear to let anyone down. It’s like you're losing yourself, drowning in obligations and expectations. You push yourself to keep up—like you always have—but it feels like you’re running on empty.

The knot in your stomach feels like it's getting bigger as all your energy is poured into meeting everyone else’s needs, putting your own on the backburner…again. This could be putting a strain on your relationships, with more misunderstandings and rising tensions. You might be saying, “there’s got to be a better way,” or “is my life going to feel like this forever?” Maybe if you could just reach your goals or figure out some different way to approach things, you’d be more at peace and less stressed out.

Maybe you’re…

  • Wishing you didn’t care so much, but it feels impossible

  • Feeling stuck, even though you know you’re trying to change

  • In a cycle of self-loathing, like you wish you were somebody else

  • Replaying phrases in your head like “I can’t do this anymore”

  • Drowning in the chaos, like you don’t have any time for yourself

  • Feeling unorganized and overwhelmed

  • Lacking confidence in personal decisions, looking for others to tell you what to do

  • Stressed out, like there’s no relief in sight

Unlock the courage to say “no” and the confidence to say “yes” to what really matters.

Let’s take this one step at a time and get you where you want to be.

What you’re experiencing right now is hard, and I want you to know that your feelings are valid and real. Life can throw some serious curveballs, and when you're dealing with anxiety and the constant pressure to please everyone, it can feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You are not alone.

As a therapist, I pride myself on creating a warm, inviting environment where you can feel free to work through your challenges, identify where they’re coming from, and set goals that lead to the life you want. Sometimes when we begin to “peel back the onion layer” of stress,

we see different core beliefs or past experiences that might be related to your anxiety and need to please others. As we continue our work together, you’ll learn new ways to cope with the stress, anxiety, and uncertainty that comes up in your day-to-day life.

I see myself as a guide walking alongside you as you navigate what you’re feeling and become who you want to be. It can be hard work, but with consistency it’s possible to break free from the stress and anxiety you’re feeling stuck in and embrace the confidence, coping skills, and healthy boundaries you’re looking for.

Methods I use —

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented therapy that helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors, promoting healthier coping strategies and improved emotional well-being.

  • Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) teaches individuals skills to manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and tolerate distress more effectively through a combination of cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is based on the idea that our minds are made up of different "parts," each representing different emotions, thoughts, or behaviors. Sometimes, these parts can be in conflict. For example, one part of you might feel anxious, while another part tries to protect you by avoiding certain situations.

IFS also teaches that everyone has a core Self, which is calm, wise, and compassionate. The goal of therapy is to help your Self take the lead, so you can better understand and manage these parts. By doing so, you can resolve inner conflicts, heal from past wounds, and feel more at peace within yourself. description

FAQs

  • People-pleasing is the constant prioritization of others’ needs and opinions over your own, often at the expense of your own well-being. This type of behavior is often closely tied to anxiety, as the fear of disappointing or being rejected by others drives the need to seek approval.

  • While it may not be completely possible to remove the desire to please others, therapy can help individuals find a healthier balance in their lives as they become more assertive in meeting their own needs. Over time, with practice and support, many people can learn to set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and cultivate more authentic relationships.

  • This is something that will look different for everybody. Some people may start noticing positive changes early on, while others may require more time to see significant improvement. That’s okay!
